Current Activities


House Sound Engineer for the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall and Oregon Symphony Orchestra since Sept 1992. Duties include setup, operation and maintenance of house sound system for orchestra classical and pops shows, touring concerts and road shows, corporate presentations, multimedia events, theatrical plays, local concerts and lecture series as well as interfacing touring shows with house system. Other duties with the orchestra include recording of all perfomances for study and selected concerts for radio and television broadcasts as well as compact disc and video. Also included is advance work with guest artists and sound design for many local shows.

Guest Artists with Oregon Symphony have included:

James Taylor, Bobby Mcferrin, Ray Charles, Tony Bennett, Doc Severinson, Frank Zappa Tribute Band, David Byrne, Mel Torme

1984 - 1992 -- Lindsay West Scenic & Light

Main clients included NIKE and NINTENDO. My duties there were sound system design, installation and operation for corporate events including large scale video and slide projection shows,stage shows,concerts,corporate presentations,trade shows, sporting events,fashion shows and press conferences.

Provided sound on behalf of NIKE for Supershow, which is held annually in Atlanta Georgia, the Nike Fun Center 1988 Olympics, Seoul South Korea, one time sporting events in Paris,France and Munich,Germany as well as annual company conventions.Many of these events also included press and translation systems, laser lights and pyrotechnics. Artists supported in association with NIKE included Natalie Cole, Bo Diddley, Darlene Love, The Temptations. Provided sound for Nintendo's booths at CES which is held annually in LasVegas and Chicago.These included multichannel systems for video walls as well as stage shows.

1984 - 1987 -- Portland Civic Auditorium

House Sound Engineer for the City of Portland's largest auditorium. Responsible for setup,operation and maintenance of house sound system for orchestral shows,touring concerts and road shows,corporate presentations,multimedia events,theatrical plays,local events and interfacing touring shows with house system.

I.A.T.S.E. Local # 28 since 1981. Credentials include a I.A.T.S.E. Journeyman stage card, Journey Certificate from the Oregon Bureau of Labor & Industries for completion of local # 28 apprenticeship program and State of Oregon Limited Journeyman Electrical Stage License.


Equipment

Linear X ,PCRTA 1/3rd octave analyzer with a 486 based PC. System will read 1/3rd oct frequencies from 20 to20khz, RT 20,40 & 60 and impedence measurements. 1/3rd oct Measurements can be done to 0.1 DB. Analyzer runs under windows.
